Oslo Coalition Projects, 2008

Below are the projects for which we have applied for funding in 2008, arranged according to the chapters in the Oslo Coalition Action Plan for 2008. Jubilee Strategy Process

  • 1.1 Strategy process for the Executive Board

New Directions in Islamic Thought and Practice
  • 2.1 ”Ethical Guidelines for Islamic family Law", 2nd in a series of 4 workshops, in Doha, in October
  • 2.2 "New Directions in Islamic Thought and Practice" will be published in April
Indonesia
  • 3.1 Bridge Building Dialogue, workshops
  • 3.2 Bridge Building Dialogue, international conference
China
  • 4.1“Freedom of Religion in China: Norwegian Experiences from the Human Rights Dialogue”
  • 4.2 Third (and final) International Conference on Religion and Law, in Beijing in May
Caucasus
  • 5.1 Round table conference for religious leaders in Georgia with the theme religion, ethics and human rights, Tblisi, October
Central Asia
  • 6.1 FORB and promotion of religious pluralism, cooperative project with Foundation for Tolerance International, research project og international conference in November
Missionary Activities and Human Rights
  • 7.1 Finalisation of the 2 year process with a conference: “Codes of Conduct for Missionary Activities”
Facilitating Freedom of Religion and Belief
  • 8.1 Publication of Oslo Coalition Deskbook in Indonesian, translation of deskbook to Chinese and Russian
  • 8.2 Workshop on promoting FORB as a Human Right in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Teaching for Tolerance
  • 9.1 Dissemination of publications produced by the Teaching for Tolerance group
  • 9.2 Continued development of the Website on T4T
  • 9.3 Workshops in Skills for the Practice of Tolerance
